ABILENE, TX — Funeral Directors Life (FDL) is proud to announce the recent promotion of Mark Owen to Senior Sales Vice President, a brand-new position for the company.

“Mark has represented Funeral Directors Life with professionalism and class for many years, and we are very excited about the guidance he’ll bring to our entire sales team,” said Todd Carlson, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer of Funeral Directors Life. “Mark’s business insight, servant leadership, and vast knowledge of the funeral profession will undoubtedly lead to better results for our clients and sales professionals.”

As Senior Sales Vice President, Mark will take on many of the day-to-day responsibilities required to help the sales management team be successful, including managing and training other sales leaders in the company.

Mark has more than 40 years of professional sales experience, which includes 38 years in sales management and 23 years in prearranged funeral planning. Since joining FDL in 2001, Mark has been responsible for developing and implementing fruitful strategies for more than 600 funeral home clients.

“Getting to work closely with funeral homes and other funeral sales professionals has been a highlight of my career and something I’m looking forward to doing more of,” Mark said. “I’m eager to develop new relationships, serve our funeral home clients, and help funeral homes grow their business and improve their profitability.”

Before moving into his new role, Mark served as Regional Sales Vice President, where he led several managers across 11 states. He also was a board member of the West Texas Funeral Directors Association and has spoken for continuing education courses at more than a dozen state associations.
